The M5 is the best all-rounder, with the longest battery life (up to 24 hours) and the lightest weight. Choose the M5 Pro for demanding photo, video and coding work, with up to 64GB of memory, Thunderbolt 5 and three external displays. The M5 Max puts Apple's most powerful laptop chip, with up to a 40-core GPU and 128GB of memory, into the portable 14-inch body.
The 14-inch weighs 1.55 to 1.62kg and is easier to carry every day. It's also the only size with the standard M5 chip. The 16-inch MacBook Pro M5 has a larger 16.2-inch display and a 100Wh battery but weighs 2.14kg. With the same chip, performance is very similar.
The 14-inch M5 has three Thunderbolt 4 ports (up to 40Gb/s). M5 Pro and M5 Max models have three Thunderbolt 5 ports (up to 120Gb/s), which is useful for very fast external SSDs, docks and multiple high-resolution displays. Every model also has HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 and a headphone jack.
Apple quotes up to 24 hours of video streaming for the M5, 22 hours for the M5 Pro and 20 hours for the M5 Max, all from a 72.4Wh battery. Every refurbished MacBook Pro we sell has its battery health checked as part of our refurbishment process.
Yes. In the UK, Apple no longer includes a power adapter in the box with the M5 MacBook Pro, only the USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. Every refurbished MacBook Pro M5 from Hoxton Macs comes with a USB-C power adapter and a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable, so it's ready to use straight away. Read why Apple removed the charger.
Nano-texture is a matte display finish that scatters reflections, greatly reducing glare in bright rooms and offices while keeping contrast and colour. It's an option on every M5 MacBook Pro: choose Glass: Nano-texture on the product page. Standard glass gives the deepest blacks and most vivid image in controlled lighting.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 was released on 22 October 2025. The 14-inch M5 Pro and M5 Max models followed on 11 March 2026.
The M5 is faster, especially for AI and graphics, and can be configured with up to 4TB of storage, but the design, display and ports are the same. If you want to save, a refurbished 14-inch MacBook Pro M4 is still an excellent choice. Our MacBook Pro Buyer’s Guide compares every model.
Premium grade is our highest grade: the MacBook Pro is fully functional and indistinguishable from new, with no visible marks on the casing or display and fewer than 10 battery cycles. Excellent, Good and Fair grades show progressively more signs of use at lower prices. See our grading guide for details.
Every refurbished MacBook Pro M5 comes with our 1 Year Hardware Warranty and free next working day delivery on weekday orders placed before 1pm. You can also spread the cost with finance options.
