The 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro was released in October 2025. This was the first MacBook Pro of the M5 generation.
The M5 MacBook Pro is a refinement of the M4 rather than a full redesign. Both models feature 16GB of unified memory as standard and a similar design and port selection. The main difference is the Apple M5 chip, which delivers improved performance and efficiency over the M4. The MacBook Pro M5 10-core is also configurable with 4TB SSD option.
It will depend on how you plan to use the MacBook Pro. While the M5 offers improved performance over the M4, users who require significantly higher CPU and GPU performance may find the MacBook Pro M4 Max to be a better option.
