Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything on grading, warranty, payment and delivery — the things worth knowing before and after you buy.
What does “refurbished” mean — are these genuine Apple devices?
Yes. Every device we sell is genuine Apple hardware — never a clone or third-party rebuild. Each one is inspected, cleaned and fully tested before it goes on sale, then graded so you know exactly what you're getting for the price.
For a step-by-step look at how we do it, see our refurbishment process.
What condition will my Mac arrive in?
By default, every item is Grade A. Some are labelled Grade B — these may carry minor cosmetic marks but are fully functional and tested to the same standard.
For the full breakdown of how we grade, see our refurbishment process.
Is my Mac ready to use when it arrives?
Completely. Every device is wiped, signed out of the previous owner's iCloud account and has Activation Lock removed before it ships — so you can switch it on and set it up as your own straight away.
What about the battery?
Every item with a battery is checked to hold a minimum of 80% charge capacity with under 500 cycles. If it shows a Service or Replace warning during the one-year warranty period, we replace it free of charge.
What warranty do you offer?
A one-year return-to-base hardware warranty comes with every item. In the unlikely event of a fault, we arrange collection, repair and return of the device.
Can I return my order?
Yes — you're welcome to return any purchase. Just email info@hoxtonmacs.co.uk within 14 working days and we'll send you the return details.
How do I report an issue?
Email info@hoxtonmacs.co.uk or call us on +44 (0) 208 819 3244. Have your invoice or order number ready so we can find your record quickly.
Which payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards, plus PayPal. We also take bank transfer — get in touch at info@hoxtonmacs.co.uk if you need a pro forma invoice.
Do you offer finance?
Yes — we've teamed up with Klarna and PayPal to offer three ways to spread the cost, all subject to eligibility:
- Klarna — fixed monthly payments over up to 36 months.
- PayPal Pay in 3 — three interest-free payments on orders from £30 to £2,000.
- PayPal Credit — 0% interest for 4 months on orders over £99, with longer instalment plans available.
Just choose Klarna or PayPal at checkout. See our finance page for the full detail.
How does invoicing and VAT work?
All sales include 20% UK VAT and come with a full VAT invoice.
Can EU businesses buy zero-rated?
For businesses VAT-registered in EU countries outside the UK, we can deduct the 20% UK VAT before sale. Email info@hoxtonmacs.co.uk with your VAT registration number and registered address for a zero-rated invoice.
How does UK delivery work?
Free UK Next Working Day delivery with DPD Local:
- Fully trackable, with a one-hour delivery slot.
- In-flight options let you redirect to your nearest DPD Pickup shop if you can't sign for it.
- Pre-12 and weekend delivery available at checkout.
More detail on our delivery page.
Can I collect in person?
We're delivery-only and don't currently offer in-person collection — but UK next-working-day delivery is free, fully trackable and comes with a one-hour slot, so it's rarely a wait.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we offer both Economy and Express international shipping, starting from £9.99. See our delivery page for details.
How quickly do you dispatch?
Same-day dispatch on weekday orders placed before 1pm.
What about packaging?
We use bespoke packaging developed to protect your item in transit. It's worth keeping in case you ever return the device — and if you do dispose of it, it's fully recyclable. Items don't come with their original Apple packaging.
