The M5 generation is Apple's latest MacBook Pro. It arrived in October 2025 with the 14-inch MacBook Pro M5, and in March 2026 Apple added the more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max chips in both the 14-inch and the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Every M5 chip has a Neural Accelerator in each GPU core for much faster on-device AI, and the M5 Pro and M5 Max models add Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7 and support for up to four external displays.
Looking for a lower price? The MacBook Pro M4 is still a superb pro laptop, while our Premium MacBook Pro range is as close to new as refurbished gets. Pair your MacBook Pro with a Studio Display or Pro Display XDR for a complete desk setup, or read our MacBook Pro Buyer’s Guide if you're still deciding.
Every MacBook Pro is put through our refurbishment process, graded using our grading guide and backed by our 1 Year Hardware Warranty, with free next working day delivery and finance available.
M5 (14-inch only): ideal for most professionals, students and creatives. Fast, silent in everyday use and the longest battery life, up to 24 hours.
M5 Pro (14 or 16-inch): for heavier workloads such as large photo libraries, 4K video editing and software development. It adds more CPU and GPU cores, up to 64GB of memory, Thunderbolt 5 and three external displays.
M5 Max (14 or 16-inch): for 3D, 8K video, colour grading and running large AI models locally, with up to a 40-core GPU, 128GB of memory and 8TB of storage.
The 14-inch (1.55 to 1.62kg) is the more portable choice and is the only size available with the standard M5 chip. The 16-inch (2.14kg) comes with M5 Pro or M5 Max only and adds a larger 16.2-inch 3456 x 2234 display and a bigger 100Wh battery for up to 24 hours of video streaming. Performance is very similar for the same chip.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 was released on 22 October 2025. The M5 Pro and M5 Max models, in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, were announced on 3 March 2026 and went on sale on 11 March 2026.
The design, display and ports are the same. The M5 chips are faster, with a Neural Accelerator in every GPU core (Apple quotes up to 3.5x the AI performance of the M4 for the standard M5), higher memory bandwidth and faster SSDs. The standard M5 can now have up to 4TB of storage, and M5 Pro and M5 Max models move to Apple's N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. If you don't need the extra speed, a refurbished MacBook Pro M4 offers excellent value.
Yes. In the UK, Apple no longer includes a power adapter in the box with the M5 MacBook Pro, only the USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable. Every refurbished MacBook Pro M5 from Hoxton Macs comes with a USB-C power adapter and a USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable, so it's ready to use straight away. Read why Apple removed the charger.
M5: 16GB, 24GB or 32GB memory, 512GB to 4TB storage.
M5 Pro: 24GB, 48GB or 64GB memory (64GB on the 18-core), 1TB to 4TB storage.
M5 Max: 36GB with the 32-core GPU, or 48GB, 64GB or 128GB with the 40-core GPU, and 2TB to 8TB storage.
The M5 supports up to two external displays, the M5 Pro up to three and the M5 Max up to four, using any combination of the Thunderbolt and HDMI ports. All models drive a 6K Pro Display XDR or Studio Display at full resolution.
Nano-texture is a matte display finish that scatters reflections, greatly reducing glare in bright rooms and offices while keeping contrast and colour. It's an option on every M5 MacBook Pro: choose Glass: Nano-texture on the product page. Standard glass gives the deepest blacks and most vivid image in controlled lighting.
Yes. Every M5 MacBook Pro supports Apple Intelligence on macOS Tahoe. The M5 family adds a Neural Accelerator to every GPU core, so on-device AI tasks run significantly faster than on M4 models.
Premium grade is our highest grade: the MacBook Pro is fully functional and indistinguishable from new, with no visible marks on the casing or display and fewer than 10 battery cycles. Excellent, Good and Fair grades show progressively more signs of use at lower prices. See our grading guide for details.
Every refurbished MacBook Pro M5 comes with our 1 Year Hardware Warranty and free next working day delivery on weekday orders placed before 1pm. You can also spread the cost with finance options.
