Keeping an eye on your iPhone’s battery health is a good habit, as it helps make sure your phone keeps running smoothly. If the battery starts to wear out, you might notice it losing charge faster than usual, slowing down, or even shutting off unexpectedly. Checking your battery health gives you a clearer idea of how it’s holding up over time. It can also help you figure out when it might be time to replace it, especially if you’re seeing performance issues pop up.
How to Check Battery Health
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Tap Battery
- Select Battery Health & Charging
Here, you’ll find two key pieces of information:
- Maximum Capacity – Indicates the remaining percentage of your battery's original capacity. A lower percentage suggests your battery has aged and may require more frequent charging.
- Battery Health Status – Shows whether your battery is normal or if it needs service.
If your device shows a service warning, a link will appear allowing you to book a battery replacement with an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
💡 Tip: If your iPhone is still under warranty or covered by AppleCare+, you may be eligible for a free battery replacement.
